Four arrested in India over ‘Game of Thrones’ leak
The Indian police on Monday arrested four people suspected of leaking online an episode of popular fantasy TV series Game of Thrones before it was aired.
Three of the accused are employed with Prime Focus Technology, a tech firm in Mumbai that stores and processes the TV series for Indian streaming website Hotstar. The fourth one is its former employee.
A court in Mumbai remanded them to police custody till August 21.
The company had lodged a complaint last week explaining how the fourth episode of season seven was available online before its scheduled release on August 7.
The Game of Thrones series is possibly the most pirated show in TV history.
