Manushi Chhillar wins Miss World crown for India after 17 years
India’s Manushi Chhillar has been crowned the Miss World 2017 at the international beauty pageant on Saturday.
The win comes 17 years after Priyanka Chopra won the title for Indian in 2000.
Mexico’s Andrea Meza won the first runner-up and England’s Stephanie Hill was crowned second runner-up.
Around 108 women from across the world participated in the beauty pageant.
She impressed the judges with her final round answer. When asked to choose the profession that deserved the highest salary, she picked a mother as deserving the highest respect.
Manushi, a medical student from Haryana, had to take a one-year break from studies to focus on representing India at the pageant.
