Anukreethy Vas, a 19-year-old university student from the south Indian state of Tamil Nadu, has been crowned Femina Miss India 2018 in Mumbai.

Meenakshi Chaudhary from Haryana was adjudged the first runner-up, while Shreya Rao Kamavarapu from Andhra Pradesh secured the second runner-up title.

Bollywood was at the forefront of the celebrations with Karan Johar and Ayushmann Khurrana playing the hosts, and Malaika Arora, Bobby Deol and Kunal Kapoor turning up as judges.

That’s not all, actors Jacqueline Fernandez, Madhuri Dixit and Kareena Kapoor Khan added glitz and glam to the proceedings with their stunning dance performances. Cricketers Irfan Pathan and KL Rahul also formed the judges panel. 

Anukreethy Vas will now represent India at Miss World 2018 while the two runners-up will represent the country at Miss Grand International 2018 and Miss United Continents 2018 respectively.
