Gwen Stefani getting Las Vegas residency?
Gwen Stefani is reportedly “very close” to finalising a Las Vegas residency deal. The 48-year-old singer took a trip to the Nevada city over the weekend, where it is believed she entered “inside negotiations” to put the finishing touches on a deal which will see her take up a residency at the Zappos Theater inside Planet Hollywood. A source said: “Her visit to Las Vegas this weekend was one of the final pieces of the puzzle. Things are looking very good.” The ‘Hollaback Girl’ hitmaker – who has sons Kingston, 11, Zuma, nine, and Apollo, four, with ex-husband Gavin Rossdale – is said to be making the lucrative venture for the sake of her family.
The source added: “This is about spending more time with her kids. She doesn’t want to go back out on a big tour again and be away from her kids for six months at a time. “There’s flexibility that comes with doing a residency. She’ll be able to come in and out of Las Vegas for a couple weeks at a time throughout the year and she’ll never be too far from home.” And there’s even a chance Gwen could reunite with former band No Doubt, and sources claim that even if the ‘Don’t Speak’ rockers don’t reform for the residency, Gwen will still perform their hits.
The insider told E! News: “It’s possible the residency could be billed as ‘Gwen Stefani With No Doubt’, serving as somewhat of a reunion tour for the band. Details are still being worked out with the rest of the band, but either way Gwen will definitely be singing No Doubt songs.” If Gwen were to ink a deal for a residency, she would join a growing number of stars taking their shows to Las Vegas, with Jennifer Lopez completing her ‘All I Have’ run – which is also taking place in Planet Hollywood – in September this year, and Lady Gaga announcing in December that she would be kickstarting her own residency at the Monte Carlo Hotel & Casino’s Park Theater later this year.
