Harry Potter star Matthew Lewis is married
Matthew Lewis has gotten married to Angela Jones, a year and a half after he proposed in December 2016. The ‘Harry Potter’ star has tied the knot with his fiancée Angela Jones, and confirmed the news in a humorous tweet in which he bemoaned missing out on watching Arctic Monkeys perform because he was too busy getting married.
Posting a picture of himself with his new bride on social media on Monday (28.05.18), Matthew wrote: “Not only did I miss @ArcticMonkeys in LA but they were performing in Italy at the same time we were there and my wife made me get married instead. Fuming. (sic)”
Matthew, 28, and his new wife announced their engagement in December 2016, when a representative for the actor said they were “over the moon”. They added: “They’re both over the moon. They got together in July and hit it off straight away.”
Matthew – who shot to fame as nerdy Neville Longbottom in the ‘Harry Potter’ franchise – first met events planner Angela at a Wizarding World event at Universal Studios in Orlando, where she works, in January 2016.
It was reported at the time of their engagement that Matthew proposed to Angela in front of the Eiffel Tower in Paris. Meanwhile, Matthew previously opened up about his self-confidence, as he admitted that whilst he’s stripped off for some “risqué” photographs for magazines in the past, insists he will always worry about his physical appearance.
He said: “I was like ‘Why the hell do you want me [for the cover]?’ Naturally you think of cover models to be David Beckham or someone insanely handsome, not me. But I’ve worked with the photographer, Joseph Sinclair, before and he is incredibly talented. He suggested some more risqué shots because I was in the best shape of my life and I trust him.”
