Jane Fonda has cancerous growth removed from lip
Jane Fonda has had a cancerous growth removed from her lip.
The 80-year-old actress and fitness guru had a bandage on the top of her lip when she appeared on the BUILD series on Monday (15.01.18), to promote season four of ‘Grace and Frankie’, where she explained she’d had successful removal surgery.
On the show, she revealed: “I just want to explain the bandage. I just had a cancer taken from my lip.”
The ‘Monster-in-Law’ star also appeared on ‘The Howard Stern Show’, where she said that she is doing “fine”.
She said: “Hey listen, the world is falling apart, what’s a lip. Yeah, they did I’m going to be fine, thanks.”
In 2010, Jane had a breast cancer scare, but luckily doctors spotted it right away and they were able to remove the “non-invasive” cells.
At the time, she wrote on her blog: “I had a scare with a non-invasive breast cancer but it is ALL OUT NOW!!!
“I am so lucky. We got it early and it was, as I said, non-invasive. I want to thank my friends and fans who have written beautiful letters. It has meant a lot to me.
“The lump was found several weeks ago, but doctors quickly discovered the cancer had not spread. (sic)”
The ‘Barbarella’ star – who has three grown-up children from three relationships – completely changed her outlook on life after her first cancer scare, and insisted she wasn’t “scared” about dying from the disease.
Speaking 2013, she said: “It was a good test, because I always said I’m not afraid of dying.
“And I wasn’t. I mean, I felt I’ve just joined a family of millions of women who have gone through this. And how interesting. What a journey this is going to be.
“You know, maybe I’ll make it and maybe I won’t. I didn’t get scared. I hope I don’t die. But I’m not scared of dying.”
