Former US President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle are teaming up with Netflix to produce films and TV shows.

On Twitter, Netflix announced that the “multi-year agreement” will “potentially include scripted series, unscripted series, docu-series, documentaries, and features”. 

The content will be produced through the Obamas’ new company – Higher Ground Productions.

“One of the simple joys of our time in public service was getting to meet so many fascinating people from all walks of life, and to help them share their experiences with a wider audience,” said Obama.
